Aviva Investors' Munro joins IA board

Aviva Investors boss Euan Munro (pictured) has joined the Investment Association's (IA) board following the departure of Mark Amour after his retirement as Invesco Perpetual chief executive at the end of last year.

Mr Munro joins becomes the 18th member of the board which is currently chaired by Helena Morrissey - the former Newton chief executive - who will step down in the summer after a three year stint.

Mr Munro said: “As an industry it is vital that we demonstrate our societal and economic purpose, which is to deliver positive outcomes for our clients.

"The IA has an important role to play in this respect, and I look forward to working with my fellow board members to promote best practice and lead the industry towards further improvements.”

Chris Cummings, the IA's chief executive, added: "We are grateful to have such a senior and experienced Board to guide the organisation as we continue to play a leading role in national debates such as the UK’s exit from the European Union.”
