Schroders has added to its multi-asset team by poaching Chris Paine from Henderson Global Investors.
Mr Paine will join the firm's multi-asset investments team and help run global income mandates.
The manager spent 17 years at Henderson, most recently as its director of research for multi-asset after moving up from being a quantitative analyst. He also served as director of asset allocation for multi-asset from 2007 to 2012.
Mr Paine, who joined the firm on February 27, will report to Aymeric Forest, head of multi-asset global income.
Mr Forest said: "We have seen continued demand from investors for sustainable income, delivered by diversifying across different asset classes. As a result we are strengthening our capabilities further by continuing to invest in senior talent."
