Asset manager Principal Global Investors has hired former Janus sales director Alan Glendon to lead its distribution efforts among wealth managers and others.
Mr Glendon joins as director of UK fund distribution. He will be tasked with building and strengthening relations among wealth managers, as well as other parties including family offices and private banks.
Mr Glendon, who reports to Principal's global head of wealth advisory services Nick Lyster, has left Janus as it completed a merger with Henderson.
The merger completed this week with the former Henderson sales team better placed to take responsibility for fund distribution in Europe given their existing presence.
Prior to his time at Janus, Mr Glendon was head of discretionary sales for Premier Asset Management, having previously worked for F&C Asset Management and Investec.
Mr Lyster said: "We are seeing increasing interest in our funds from wealth managers in the UK and Ireland, and Alan will undoubtedly help us to strengthen our existing relationships in the wholesale space.”
