Jupiter multi-asset head Geldard steps back

Jupiter's Miles Geldard is to step back from everyday fund management, handing responsibility for his trio of funds to co-manager Lee Manzi.

Mr Geldard will stand down as a fund manager and Jupiter's head of strategy for multi-asset by September 2017, paving way for Mr Manzi to takeover full management of the Global Convertibles, Strategic Reserve and Strategic Total Return vehicles.

The pair have been colleagues for near two decades, and co-manage £885m in the trio of funds alongside institutional mandates.

Mr Geldard is calling time on a 34-year career in fund management. He will work with his multi-asset colleagues until 2018, after which he will become a part time special adviser to Jupiter. He will combine this with charitable activities, while supporting his current team and advising Jupiter across its business.

Stephen Pearson, Jupiter CIO, said: “[Mr Geldard] has helped to shape the investment team, deliver performance for clients and has made a significant contribution to Jupiter in his current role.

"We are delighted that his new role will enable him to continue to support our clients and the investment team."

The multi-asset duo have worked alongside one another since 2002, first at JPMorgan Asset Management, before moving to Jupiter in 2010.

Mr Geldard said: "Having managed portfolios with Lee for almost two decades I know that clients are in good hands."
