Canada Life launches passive fund of funds range

Canada Life is to launch a range of five new passive investment portfolios.

The funds will have ongoing charges of between 0.20 per cent and 0.24 per cent.

Each portfolio will carry a different level of risk weighting.

The portfolios comprise 11 iShares funds and Canada Life’s own property and money funds.

Alongside these funds Canada Life is also launching a range of 11 links to single strategy passive iShares funds with ongoing charges of between 0.06 per cent and 0.22 per cent.

Patrick Connolly, head of communications at adviser firm Chase De Vere, said: “With an ever increasing focus on charges and managing investment risk, it is becoming almost a default option for investment wrappers to offer passive risk-managed investment funds

"These portfolios are competitive and provide long-term buy and hold solutions and/or diversification benefits for those with smaller investment amounts invested.”

The new funds are available through Canada Life’s Pension Investment Plan, Flexible Drawdown Plan and Select Account.
