Jupiter promotes duo to manage £143m bond fund

Jupiter has promoted Harry Richards and Adam Darling to co-manage its £143m Corporate Bond fund.

The duo take over the running of the fund from Rhys Petheram, who had managed the fund for six years but is also a manager on Jupiter's multi-asset strategies, and he will now focus on his responsibilities in that part of the business.

Katharine Dryer, head of investments, fixed income and multi-asset at Jupiter said: "We are pleased to be able to combine the experience and skill of these two fund managers on the Corporate Bond fund. This will enable our clients to continue to benefit from Jupiter’s truly active approach in this important sector of the fixed income universe.

"I’d also like to wish Rhys well in his new role; he was keen to focus his abilities on this area of the market, and our ambitious plans to further build our multi-asset business provide an excellent opportunity for him to do so."

Mr Richards, who joined the firm in 2011 directly from university, has been an assistant fund manager on the company’s Strategic Bond and Dynamic Bond funds since 2016.

Meanwhile Mr Darling joined Jupiter in 2015 and is an analyst on the credit team. He has previously been employed at Barclays, Societe Generale and Morgan Stanley.

The fund has performed poorly over the year to 11 May, losing 0.45 per cent, while the average fund in the Sterling Corporate Bond sector gained 0.88 per cent.
