Emerging markets to benefit from policy change

Alex Shaw, financial adviser and director of Progeny Wealth, said: "We are keeping a close eye on EM fixed income. The asset class took a beating last year as the dollar and US interest rates climbed.

"However, with US-China trade tensions easing and rates expected to remain steady, valuations are starting to look attractive."

Mr Shaw added: "For clients keen to rejig their portfolios following the recent volatility in the equity markets, moving a portion into EM fixed income could help to lower their risk profile while still offering a good return over the long term."
