Brooks Macdonald launches adviser webinars

Brooks Macdonald is to run a series of interactive webinars for advisers in a bid to help them manage the impact of the coronavirus crisis on their clients and businesses.

The fund house's online adviser academy series — named Connected — was launched today (June 8) in response to the changing landscape under the pandemic.

Each webinar will feature a Brooks Macdonald expert alongside a variety of industry speakers for a live presentation and question and answer session.

The theme will vary each week, but the overall subject will focus on how to overcome new challenges in order to “thrive in a post-pandemic world”.

Topics include market volatility, client engagement, protecting a business against cyber threats, managing client income, vulnerable clients, multi-asset investing and how politics will drive the investment landscape.

Robin Eggar, head of UK investment management at Brooks Macdonald, said: “The last few months have changed the way we work as we now rely on technology more than ever, but the pandemic has also underlined the value of professional advice and good communication.

“Our Connected series is the perfect opportunity to engage virtually and share our expertise with advisers around the country in an interactive and inspiring way.”

Martin Bamford, head of client education at Informed Choice, said: “This looks like an excellent and timely series of webinars, with valuable content as advisers face up to the reality of the new world.

“While there's nothing particularly new about these topics, which have been bubbling away in our profession for some time, the pandemic is serving as a catalyst to accelerate consumer and market change.”

By completing the weekly series, advisers will qualify for six hours of CPD.
