AJ Bell hires former Hargreaves analyst Laith Khalaf

AJ Bell has appointed former Hargreaves Lansdown analyst Laith Khalaf as part of its communications team.

The platform announced today (September 28) it has hired Mr Khalaf as a financial analyst, responsible for producing analysis and content focused on investments and personal finance topics for AJ Bell’s customers and the media.

Mr Khalaf started his career in financial services at AJ Bell’s rival platform, Hargreaves Lansdown, in 2001.

In 2007, he became a leading industry commentator, analyst and researcher. A frequent guest on TV and radio, for several years he provided daily business bulletins on LBC.

Charlie Musson, head of communications at AJ Bell, said: “Laith’s experience and investment knowledge make him an excellent addition to the team.

“He has a proven track record of producing analysis and commentary that can help people understand investing which I’m sure is going to be a great help to our customers and the financial press.”

Mr Khalaf said his batteries were “recharged and raring to go” after a brief career break, adding that he was “really pleased” to be joining AJ Bell.

He added: “One of the biggest barriers to people saving for their future is perceived complexity, and AJ Bell is at the forefront of providing investors with simple, timely information, while offering them a low cost platform that’s easy to use, so they can execute their financial plans without breaking step.”

Mr Khalaf joins AJ Bell initially on a 10-month maternity cover contract.
