Consultancy firm Square Mile has appointed William James as investment manager to support the firm’s portfolio management team.
James joins the team from Natixis Investment Managers where he was a client relationship manager for the last four years, responsible for communications with UK wealth platforms as well as working closely with senior management on operational processes.
Previously, he held roles as a sales support and portfolio analyst which included providing performance data and carrying out portfolio analytics on financial adviser portfolios.
In his new role, he will be representing the business at investment committee meetings while responding to client queries on market developments and portfolio positioning.
James will also play a part in asset allocation by providing input and idea generation as well as assisting with advisory portfolios and liaising with Square Mile's operations team.
Mark Harries, chief investment officer at Square Mile, said: “We are very excited to welcome William to the team; he shows exceptional aptitude in communicating investment processes and decision-making to clients and in managing relationships with them.
“The last 12 months have been challenging for all businesses. However, we have been fortunate to be able to continue to invest across all our operations, not least in our team as it is they who underline our success and ensure that we can continue to deliver the highest levels of service to our clients.”
Last year, Square Mile and data provider FE FundInfo launched a fund dashboard in a bid to help advisers assess a fund’s ability to meet their clients’ needs.
