Ex-JP Morgan wealth specialists launch DFM

Two former J.P. Morgan wealth specialists have set up an investment management firm with a DFM service for advisers.

O-IM, has been created by Lewis Hamm and Carl Stelfox, two risk and wealth management specialists with a combined 35 years of experience at J.P. Morgan.

The firm is described as a multi-asset, multi-strategy investment manager that allocates to a broad range of products and “believes in direct equity exposure alongside passive and active funds”.

It offers fully managed portfolios, trading (with or without advice) and consultancy.

Lewis Hamm, chief executive and chief investment officer of O-IM, said: “Trapped between private banks that are inaccessible to all but the wealthiest and mass market providers that offer only a narrow range of pooled, often passive and often expensive, investment products, a significant number of UK investors have for too long been underserved.

“We’re here to change that. We’ve jettisoned the stuffiness and mountains of paperwork but we’ve kept the important elements of a high-end investment manager: robust risk management, experienced human investment advisers, and – most importantly – an unrelenting focus on treating each client as an individual with very specific goals.”

Fees range from 1.5 per cent initially for portfolios worth £250,000 to 0.6 per cent, with ongoing fees ranging from 2.1 per cent to 1.71 per cent.

The fees include any charges that arise from trading, the cost of the wrapper, any withdrawals out and any transfers in, of both cash and assets.

The firm offers digital onboarding, electronic signatures, and portfolio updates, insights and reports that are published online.
