AJ Bell MPS launches on four rival platforms

AJ Bell has made its managed portfolio service available on the Abrdn, Aviva, Praemium and Quilter platforms.

The move allows advisers to access AJ Bell’s full MPS portfolios on those platforms for an investment management fee of 0.15 per cent.

AJ Bell said it had acted in response to demand from advisers.

Mark Gillian, head of product at AJ Bell Investments, said: "Advisers have told us that the availability of the AJ Bell MPS on other platforms is important to them.

"We’re therefore delighted to work with our platform partners at Abrdn, Aviva, Praemium and Quilter to broaden choice for advisers and ultimately help them to service their clients."

The AJ Bell MPS consist of 28 portfolios, including 18 growth portfolios, six responsible portfolios, and four income portfolios.

The AJ Bell platform saw customer numbers rise 18 per cent in the six months to March, compared with a 17 per cent increase in total customer numbers at the firm.

The company is in the process of launching an app-based adviser platform to sit alongside AJ Bell Investcentre, allowing clients to access both platforms.

It bought the Adalpha platform earlier this year, which has since been rebranded to Touch by AJ Bell.

The platform's launch will be phased, starting with an Isa and GIA offering, with a pension and additional investment options to be added in future.

AJ Bell expects to launch the initial services to a small group of advisers at the end of this year.
