Hammond leaves Castle to strike out alone

Alex Hammond, head of mortgage marketing at Castle Trust, has left the specialist mortgage provider to set up his own PR consultancy.

Mr Hammond, a former trade journalist who has also held positions at Kensington and Investec, said he felt that many companies, although they had good products, were not good at communicating them.

He said: "It is important to work with people who understand the business. That is where I can help."

Mr Hammond, who already has two clients, Pepper Money and 3MC, said he was targeting other companies in the mortgage market with his new PR business, called Also.

He said: "That is where my experience is so that will be my focus."

Emma Lightfoot is the new head of mortgage marketing for Castle Trust.

The company confirmed that Mr Hammond had left.

Matthew Wyles, group executive director at Castle Trust Capital, said: "Alex did a tremendous job during his time at Castle Trust and laid the foundations of our marketing strategy.

"We wish Alex every success in his new venture."
