Halifax offers home buyers £1,000 cash boost

Halifax Intermediaries has announced the launch of a £1,000 cashback offer for first-time buyers and home movers.

Ian Wilson, head of Halifax Intermediaries, said: "This offer highlights how we are continuing to be there for our customers when they need us most and make it easier for intermediaries to do business with us.

"We are hoping it will help ease the financial burden for home buyers getting onto the housing ladder for the first time and those moving house, when extra cash can come in handy after committing to a new mortgage."

The offer is available from 30 April until 24 June this year and is available to first-time buyers and home movers who complete on a qualifying mortgage.

It excludes remortgages, product transfers and further advances.

The £1,000 cashback payment is paid on completion and sent to the customer's conveyancer with the completion funds.

Andrew Montlake, brand director of London-based mortgage broker Coreco, said: "It has been proven that consumers like these cashbacks.

"Anything to alleviate the cost of buying your first property or moving house can only be a good thing − £1,000 could be very helpful for a lot of people."
