Vida Homeloans launches in Scotland

Vida Homeloans has expanded into Scotland offering mortgages on residential and buy-to-let properties, including houses in multiple occupation, limited company and portfolio propositions.

The specialist lender appointed Kenny Clark, formerly a business development manager at HSBC, as key account manager in Scotland to act as the primary point of contact for intermediaries.

Mr Clark said: "I am really pleased to be joining Vida at such an exciting time in its expansion plans.

"I can see Vida’s unique buy-to-let and expat propositions being very popular in key Scottish cities such as Aberdeen, Glasgow and Edinburgh."

Earlier this year, Vida launched a range of specialist mortgages inclusive of borrowers with slightly impaired credit histories.

Ian McGrail, director at broker First Mortgage, said he believes Vida’s launch into the Scottish market is positive news.

He said: "We have just launched a specialist lending team to cater for our network of branches in Scotland so this news is very welcome indeed.

"I am sure we will be able to help many more customers with the addition of Vida Homeloans and I look forward to working together in the near future."
