Natalie Rigby, head of marketing at the BridgeCrowd, said: "As a woman, and head of marketing, we have listened to feedback and we know this has created debate about how women are perceived.
"We are sorry if this has caused genuine offence and we are passionate about the importance of women’s roles in the industry."
Ms Rigby told FTAdviser that only one broker had removed the lender from their panel and that some feedback received about the advert had been positive from those who had taken the promotion in a "tongue in cheek" way.
