Brokers see hike in enquiries after stamp duty cut

Lenders have been temporarily withdrawing 90 per cent LTV products to protect service levels after experiencing high demand.

Accord Mortgages, for example, suspended all lending on its 90 per cent LTV products for first-time buyers on July 6. It had relaunched the products exclusively to first-time buyers, after withdrawing its range altogether due to high demand since re-entering the market following lockdown.

However, there are signs the market is returning. On Tuesday (July 14) three lenders announced they would resume offering products at 90 per cent amid a “more active housing market”.
