Registration is now open for the London Institute of Banking & Finance’s new specialist lending programme, the level three certified practitioner in specialist property finance (CPSP).

The programme has been designed by the Financial Intermediary and Broker Association and the Association of Short Term Mortgage Lenders for those who are new to the specialist property finance industry or are interested in becoming a broker.

CPSP is an e-learning programme that will cover bridging, short term finance, development finance and specialist buy-to-let, with participants who complete the modules recognised through the award of a LIBF digital badge and accredited for CPD purposes.

The programme will consist of 13 topics, designed by industry experts and learners will have 12 months to complete the programme.

According to the LIBF the average time to complete the programme will be six months.

ASTL chief executive Vic Jannels said the programme is “a matter of weeks away from officially launching”.

“The launch of CPSP has been a long but exciting journey and I want to pay tribute to all of those who have been involved in delivering the initiative.

“Registrations are open now and we have already been really pleased by the number of people who have already signed up to take the qualification,” Jannels said.

He added: “CPSP will provide advisers with the opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to high standards of customer service and competency, and is a major stepping stone in continuing to enhance standards and advance the reputation of our industry.”
