Gen H, also known as Generation Home, has introduced an affordability calculator to help brokers quickly find products to suit their clients needs.

The calculator was built following input from brokers who were given exclusive access over the past two weeks.

As a result of the broker input, Gen H added requested functionality, including more nuanced loan sizing and the ability to view applicable products within the calculator itself.

The calculator launch follows the introduction of the lender’s new criteria centre which has been “redesigned from the ground up”.

Gen H’s chief commercial officer, Pete Dockar said the changes have all been made with the aim of using technology to build a fairer housing market.

“So many of the systems used by other lenders are relics of decades passed, and it makes an adviser’s job much harder. We are creating a more streamlined and frankly pleasant process for our intermediary panel because when systems are thoughtfully designed, everyone benefits – from our broker partners to their clients and our own wonderful Gen H team,” Dockar said.

In May, Gen H’s adviser panel grew to 12,000 brokers in England and Wales.

Its products are available online and through clubs and networks including Legal & General Mortgage Club, Primis, TMA Club, and SimplyBiz.
