Know which firms to trust with pension transfers

In response to your story about Aegon poaching advisers' clients (Financial Adviser, 27 July) I recently sent in a transfer-of-servicing request to Aegon on behalf of an introduced client requesting further information on his pension.

Three weeks later I telephoned Aegon to ask why I had not even received an acknowledgement, and was informed that it had been transferred. What a good job I bothered to contact them.

It certainly looks like Aegon values the company/adviser relationship – like heck they do.

I am in the process of moving this business elsewhere at no cost to the client as I simply do not trust this company. The same goes for Standard Life, and I would never use the Co-funds platform either.
