Pensions expert Rachel Vahey will be joining AJ Bell at the end of September as senior technical consultant.
Ms Vahey, who has more than 25 years' experience in the industry, was head of pension development at Aegon from 1998 to 2011 and product technical manager at Nucleus from 2016 until July this year, when she moved back to her home town in Cheshire.
As part of the technical team at AJ Bell, Ms Vahey will help financial advisers understand the changing pensions and savings environment and how new legislation and regulation affects them and their clients, the provider stated.
She will also feature regularly as a speaker at AJ Bell’s events and seminars for advisers, as well as writing content and articles for its website.
Gareth James, head of technical at AJ Bell, said Ms Vahey was an excellent addition to the provider’s technical team.
He said: “She will be well known to many financial advisers already and brings significant experience and expertise which will be of great value to advisers using our services.”
Ms Vahey added: “AJ Bell is a company I’ve admired for a long time. It has a strong heritage in the self-invested personal pension and platform market and is clearly very focused on helping and supporting the financial advisers it does business with. I’m looking forward to being part of that.”
