Aviva looks to L&G for workplace savings head

Aviva has appointed Emma Douglas as managing director of its workplace savings business.

Douglas joins from Legal & General where she was head of defined contributions and will report to Rob Barker, managing director of UK savings and retirement at Aviva.

She joined L&G Investment Management in 2014 from Mercer where she was a partner and head of Mercer workplace savings. 

Before that, she was head of DC sales at BlackRock and head of DC pensions at Threadneedle Investments, and has more than 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. 

She is also a member of the PLSA DC Council.

Douglas said: “I’m delighted to join Aviva and look forward to leading the workplace savings team, which is a recognised leader in the sector and delivered strong net flows in 2020.”

Barker said: “I am delighted that Emma is joining Aviva to lead our highly-successful workplace savings business. We see big opportunities to continue to grow our business and Emma’s knowledge and experience in the market will further strengthen our team.”
