The Pensions Ombudsman has made its application forms and live chat temporarily unavailable as it investigates a cyber incident.

The ombudsman said it is working with the relevant agencies, including the National Cyber Security Centre to deal with it.

As a precautionary measure, systems such as application forms and live chat have been disabled.

“We apologise for any inconvenience,” it said.

“More information will be shared once available.”

Earlier this year, national advice firm Succession Wealth launched an investigation after it suffered a cyber attack.

In February, Succession Wealth, which is owned by Aviva, confirmed it had notified the appropriate authorities after it was alerted to a potential cyber attack on February 8.
