Novia appoints CTO from Investec

Novia has appointed a chief technology officer from Investec, making Eden Scrivenger the latest addition to the platform’s all-new executive team.

The platform’s former CTO, Chris Bowles, was in his role for seven months before he was made chief architect, a role he still holds according to the firm.

Bowles had previously spent 11 years at Hargreaves Lansdown, and then a further five years at a non-advisory broker founded by an ex-Hargreaves employee.

His replacement, Scrivenger, will join in September after spending the past two years as CTO of Investec Wealth & Investment.

Scrivenger began her career at Axa UK, and later in 2018 spent a year-long contract at M&G Investments.

The platform has also recently recruited Laura Moodley, a former risk manager from LV and Old Mutual Wealth.

In June, Moodley became the platform’s head of change, joining Parmenion’s George Woodley, who is coming in as head of IT delivery.

Moodley and Woodley will be Scrivenger’s direct reports, who will in turn report into Novia’s chief executive, Patrick Mill.

When Mill took the helm of Novia in May 2021, following its acquisition by private equity firm AnaCap in December 2020, a series of executives under the previous boss and founder, Bill Vasilieff, left.

Mill said last year “things needed to change”, and that a new leadership team would help Novia scale from a £12.5bn asset strong business to one surpassing £20bn.

“Attracting talent of Eden’s calibre is testimony to the vision we have for Novia and our commitment to positioning the business so that we can lead on service and true digitisation, enabling adviser firms to construct their technology stack as they see fit, not as platforms dictate,” Mill told FTAdviser.

“The team we’re building around Eden, and across the business, to turbo-charge our programme of enhancements makes me truly excited for what we can achieve in our sector.”
