L&G business protection training has record year

Legal & General has had another record year for its UK-wide business protection training programme.

It saw a 43 per cent increase in adviser visits in 2016 on the previous year.

The specialist protection team, which works with advisers to help them understand the benefits of business protection, visited 9,324 advisers compared with 5,315 in 2015.

L&G delivered the equivalent of 11,026 CPD hours in 2016, up nearly 30 per cent on 2015

Richard Kateley, head of intermediary development at L&G, said: “This isn’t the first time we have a had a record uptake in our training sessions and each year we see the number of advisers joining the market grow, something which is vitally important given the number of uninsured or underinsured businesses in the UK today.

“At Legal & General we are determined to support advisers who want to develop this market and, from what I can see, the advisers really appreciate the work we are doing to support them.

“This is not only reflected in the increase in numbers attending our events but by the awards we have won over the last 12 months, most of which are voted for by the adviser community.”

L&G delivered its CPD through 312 workshops, training sessions and seminars that saw it travel more than 82,000 miles across the UK

The business protection website, which offers a range of tools for advisers, as well as client-facing sales material and online calculators, was viewed over 35,000 times.
