Vitality expands GP network

Vitality has added a new GP partner to its Greater London Fact-to-Face GP service.

The insurer has partnered with DocTap  which has 12 clinics in the capital and takes Vitality’s member to more than 30 in the London area.

Vitality members, a large number of which are based in Greater London, can access a GP at a reduced rate without having to wait for an appointment at their surgery.

The tie-up also offers members a mole-checking service, with each DocTap clinic housing a dermascope facility where suspicious moles or lesions can be assessed by a dermatologist following a GP consultation.

Dr Dawn Richards, medical affairs director at Vitality, said: "The primary care market is rapidly evolving in line with patient needs and these features, alongside the enhancements made to the Vitality GP app last year, demonstrate our commitment to continued innovation in this space."

Each pre-booked face-to-face consultation costs members £20, with those on the Vitality London Care hospital list able to get unlimited GP visits.

Those with the Consultant Select plan or the Local or Countrywide hospital lists can access two face-to-face visits each plan year.

Dan Faber, co-founder and chief executive of DocTap, said: "As well as discounted GP appointments, Vitality members qualify for up to £100 of blood tests or investigations per year, in addition to same day checking of any suspicious moles or lesions.

"Should the GP decide that the member needs to see a specialist consultant, Vitality is automatically notified so that the referral can be arranged without delay.

"We look forward to continuing to innovate with Vitality to provide the most convenient and highest quality primary care in the UK."

Vitality will be considering how it can extend the network beyond London over time.
