Which? exec joins FSCS board

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has appointed three members to its board as four of its current members reach the end of their terms.

Helen Parker, Steven Cooper, and Patrick Neville will replace outgoing board members Liz Barclay, Jayne Nickalls, David Weymouth, and Paul Stockton from 1 July.

Ms Parker is deputy chief executive of consumer organisation Which?, and was previously a non-executive director of the Fundraising Standards Board.

Mr Cooper is chief executive of Barclaycard Business Solutions where he manages the payments division at Barclays, and sits on a number of advisory boards including education charity Teach First and the leadership team for Business in the Community’s Age at Work campaign.

Previously chief executive at Aviva Investors, Mr Neville is a non-executive director of Decisioning Blueprints Ltd.

Lawrence Churchill, chairman of the FSCS, said: “We’re delighted to have three such strong people joining the board of the Scheme.

“They bring a wealth of experience in financial services and in consumer protection, which are essential requirements for FSCS to fulfil its mandate as the UK’s compensation scheme for the financial services industry.”
