Compliance platform invites advisers to submit GDPR queries

Compliance platform Astrid is inviting advisers to submit any questions they may have about the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which came into force on 25 May of this year.

The firm is holding a free webinar for advisers alongside its compliance partner Compliance and Training Solutions (Cats) on 26 September, where it will seek to address any questions submitted.

It said recent research had showed a mere 20 per cent of companies had completed their GDPR implementation and there were widespread concerns about the clarity of some aspects of the new rules.

The GDPR is a set of rules designed to protect the data and privacy of individuals within the EU.

The webinar will be hosted by Mel Holman, financial planner and director at CATS, who will be putting advisers' questions to Gerrard Fisher, managing director of Astrid.

Mr Fisher said: "For those that deal with financial information, the consequences of non-compliance with GDPR are huge.

"We want to find out what issues are holding IFAs back and answer as many questions as possible to help them become GDPR compliant and protect clients’ personal data."

The webinar will aim to address questions about how to deal with subject requests from third parties and which information IFAs are allowed to keep when archiving data.

Ms Holman said: "We know that there are common concerns that regulated firms and financial planners are having.

"As compliance consultants we are keen to support our clients with GDPR and see this as a great opportunity for firms to have their questions answered."

Cats is inviting financial advisers to submit their questions via email to hello@weareastrid.co.uk
