Adviser launches wealth management boutique

Financial adviser Lee Hurst has launched a new wealth management firm in Harrogate to provide advice for individuals, businesses and trusts.

Harrogate Wealth Management will specialise in retirement planning, tax planning, personal inheritance, investment and pensions advice.

Currently the firm comprises a team of three, but Mr Hurst said he hoped to grow "rapidly".

Mr Hurst said recent changes to the regulation of financial advisers had "presented an opportunity" for new firms to enter the market.

He said recent pension reforms had created increased demand for advice around pensions and retirement planning.

“As an independent, fee-based financial planning firm, we have no allegiance to any particular product or company, but can instead offer truly objective advice with only the best interests of our clients at heart.," he said.

“Given the uncertain economic climate, many people are wondering how best to protect and grow their wealth and need advice from experts they can trust.

"We are already receiving a number of referrals, particularly via our network of professional contacts, and are confident that the business will grow quickly.”

Officer manager Lynne Bowman will be working alongside Mr Hurst and a consultant is expected to be appointed within the next few weeks with further expansion anticipated early in 2017.

Mr Hurst was previously a wealth manager at Marshall Zoing. Prior to that he was a business consultant at Old Mutual Wealth.
