Sense Network’s head of marketing has left to set up a consultancy for financial advisers.
Phil Bray said his new company, The Yardstick Agency, would help advisers market their businesses more effectively.
He said many advisers do not have the time, resources or in-house expertise to do this themselves.
Mr Bray said: “It’s a great time to launch a new business. I’m excited about how Yardstick can help advisers market their businesses more effectively and communicate the value of advice to the public.
“We know many advisers struggle with marketing. We also know financial services inside out, what works, and what doesn’t.
“Advisers will benefit from this knowledge and experience. We believe this – plus our commitment to exceptional quality – is what sets Yardstick apart.”
Mr Bray had been head of marketing at Sense since 2014, leaving at the end of last month, and has previously been a financial adviser himself.
His new firm will provide strategy and support for advisers who want to do their own business marketing, as well as those who want to out-source some or all of it.
It will also offer online training resources to help advisers learn to market their business and develop new skills.
The Yardstick Agency has already been working with several firms who signed up before the official launch, such as London-based Adcock Financial.
