Tilney hires Pearson for charity push

Tilney has appointed Nicholas Pearson as head of charity business development.

It is a newly created position at Tilney to help the firm increase its growing presence in the charity investment management space.

Paul Frame, head of charities at Tilney, said: “As we look to build on our established reputation for managing and advising investments for charitable organisations at Tilney, we are delighted to have someone of the gravitas and calibre of Nicholas to join our fold.

“Nicholas’ knowledge and experience of working within the third sector is second to none and we are thrilled that he is joining our experienced investment team to assist our growth ambitions in this area.”

Mr Pearson has more than 40 years of experience in the City and pioneered the development of professional and tailored services to charities.

At Cazenove, he established the first ever dedicated charity division at an investment management firm, where under his auspices funds grew to £3.5bn on behalf of 550 charities.

He also helped set up the Charities Investors Group 20 years ago, of which he is now president.

Last month the financial planning and investment company rebranded as Tilney Group, following its integration with Towry.

Headquartered in Mayfair, the Tilney Group now comprises more than 300 financial planners, investment managers and advisers supporting over 100,000 clients from a network of 30 offices across the UK.
