Former Bankhall and Skandia CEO takes up non-exec role

Momentum UK has appointed Peter Mann as a non-executive director.

Mr Mann’s appointment comes as Momentum looks to expand in the UK retail market.

The former chief executive of Skandia UK and Bankhall has been appointed to help bring Momentum’s solutions “to life” in the retail sector.

One of the largest financial services groups in South Africa, in the UK, Momentum states it is focused on providing consumers and their IFA’s with investment solutions and personal financial management tools, "that they need to better understand, map and achieve their financial goals".

On his appointment, Mr Mann said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Momentum, during a period of focus and growth in the IFA segment.

“I look forward to being part of the company’s next stage of development, bringing outcome-based investing to the forefront of adviser investment solutions.”

Mr Mann began working in financial services with Scottish Amicable before becoming development director and then chief executive of Bankhall.

In 2008 he moved to Skandia UK, becoming chief executive in 2009, retiring in 2014.

He is currently non-executive chairman of Harwood Wealth Management.

Ferdinand Van Heerden, chief executive of Momentum said: “Peter will undoubtedly bring a significant contribution to our UK business.

“His track record speaks for itself and his unique understanding of the UK wealth management market will bring much value to what is already a dynamic UK team.”
