Succession overhauls management team

Succession Group has appointed a managing director along with a raft of other senior hires, in the wake of CEO Simon Chamberlain’s sudden death in March.

The Group’s former operating director James Stevenson has been appointed overall managing director.

He will take on the strategic direction for the Group, driving a “culture of progressive change” to deliver a “client-centric, holistic wealth management service,” the company announcement read.

At the same time, Sanjay Shah has been appointed as managing director of Succession Advisory Services, the platform and consultancy service part of the organisation.

Mr Shah began working with Succession Advisory Services in 2010, and in 2014 sold his IFA and cforporate benefits business to Succession Group.

As managing director of the advice arm of the group, Mr Shah will be responsible for supporting advice firms who have become members of Succession, to sell their business to the Succession Group.

Four senior management appointments have also been made to support the executive team, including Hazel Hodge, who has been made membership director for Succession Advisory Services, and Mark Stokes, who becomes group proposition and marketing director.

Succession executive chair, Ray Pierce said: “These new appointments reflect the continued development of the Succession team and underline our commitment to creating the UK's largest privately-owned wealth management businesses.

“They also reflect our refreshed commitment to be an employer of choice, attracting and developing the very best people, and creating a company culture that wholly invests in its people to redefine what is seen in the industry today.”
