Ex-FSA director joins Royal London board

A former senior adviser to the regulator has joined Royal London as non-executive director.

Olivia Dickson was previously a senior adviser to the Financial Services Authority and is non-executive director of the Financial Reporting Council where she chairs the Actuarial Council.

Moving from the regulator to the regulated, she has now taken up the non-executive role at the UK’s largest life and pensions group.

Ms Dickson, who started her career at Kleinworth Benson in 1982, worked with the Financial Services Authority – the predecessor to the Financial Conduct Authority – from 1998 to 2006 advising on a range of strategic projects in the retail and wholesale markets.

From 2005 to 2012 she was a member of the Determinations Panel at the Pensions Regulator and from 2006 to 2013 was a member of the FSA’s Regulatory Decisions Committee.

Ms Dickson, who has a masters in Mathematics from Oxford University, currently holds non-executive director positions with Virgin Money, Canada Life, Investec and the Financial Reporting Panel.

Rupert Pennant-Rea, chairman at Royal London, said: “I am very pleased that Olivia Dickson is joining the board. She has a wealth of experience in financial services which will be a great asset.”
