Lighthouse reaches deal with Social Workers Union

Lighthouse Group has agreed a new contract with The Social Workers Union to be the preferred provider of financial advice to its members.

The contract will initially run for 18 months and Lighthouse will provide advice on savings, investments, pensions and protection, plus mortgages.

The Social Workers Union is a trade union dedicated to social work professionals and currently has 12,000 members.

Malcolm Streatfield, chief executive of Lighthouse said: “We very much look forward to developing our relationship over the coming months and working closely with The Social Workers Union membership to help them address their financial planning needs.

“The board remains committed to increasing our affinity partnerships throughout the UK.”

Lighthouse has 19 affinity relationships representing more than 6m members.

This new contract extends a its list of affinity partnerships, which includes major employee organisations such as Unison, Unite, BA Clubs, Prospect, The Fire Brigades Union and the Royal College of Nursing.

John McGown, general secretary of The Social Workers Union, said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract with Lighthouse, as this will allow our members access to financial planning assistance on a national basis and across a broad range of financial topics, helping them to make the most of financial planning opportunities.”
