Beaufort Group expands into Wiltshire with new firm

National IFA network Beaufort Group has formed a new appointed representative firm based in Wiltshire.

Statehouse Group will join the national IFA network, and become Beaufort Financial (Swindon) Ltd.

The newly named firm will be led by Statehouse principal Nick Cowen and will operate from its current office in Hook, near Royal Wootton Bassett.

The Statehouse Group has assets under management of more than of £150m and more than 3,000 clients.

Mr Cowen said: "We have been working closely with Beaufort Group for some time and have made use of its outsourced admin, compliance, marketing and other services including its DFM, Beaufort Investment Management.

"We have big ambitions for our business, and having considered a number of options, we decided to take a stake in Beaufort Group and establish a hub in the Swindon area. We were impressed by its services and its brand. Furthermore, we believe in what the group stands for and wants to achieve for both its partners and their clients.

"With Beaufort, we’ll have all the support we need to concentrate on what we do best; delivering a high standard of service to our clients. We’re looking forward to undertaking our journey and grow with Beaufort over the coming years."

Beaufort Group was founded in 2012 and already has 12 appointed representatives and four directly authorised firms and its investment management arm has £771m under management.

Last year the firm's executive chairman Simon Goldthorpe said he views the network as a "partnership" and said its existing members are given a say in whether a new firm can join.

Mr Goldthorpe said: "We are delighted that Nick and his team have joined us; we’ve worked with him for a while and his firm is just the type that we want to partner with – ambitious and growing.

"We look forward to helping him and his colleagues expand their client proposition to grow the business in partnership with Beaufort Group."
