Adviser expands into 'underserved' Petersfield

Chartered financial planning firm Informed Choice is to expand the business, with the opening of an office in Petersfield.

This is the second location for the 24-year-old business and comes after it experienced rising demand for its financial planning services.

The firm's fee revenues rose by 10.2 per cent to £1.2m, and net profit rose by 32 per cent to £230,000 in the year to July, it said.

The business, which currently has five employees, has £230m of assets under management.

The firm signed the lease on the office yesterday (13 September) and hopes to open by mid-October.

Shelley McCarthy, financial planning director at Informed Choice, will become head of the new office, working alongside two other financial planners.

She said: "Petersfield is a fantastic location for an expansion of our independent financial planning services and we are fortunate to have secured an office suite at Holders Barn.

"We already have a good relationship with clients and professional connections in Hampshire, and look forward to building more relationships there over the coming years."

She added: "It’s a really exciting time for the financial planning profession and for Informed Choice specifically. Petersfield is underserved by financial planners at the moment and we look forward to becoming well known in the town by replicating our success in Cranleigh."

Informed Choice plans to continue growing steadily and has started to mull ideas for succession planning.

The founders, Nick (pictured) and Andrea Bamford, are planning for their eventual retirement and will work on developing their next generation of financial planners.

Son Martin is managing director of the firm.
