Helpline launched for CISI financial planners

Schroders has shown its support for the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) financial planning mentoring scheme with the launch of a helpline for mentees and mentors.

The global investment manager is offering the helpline as a means to answer any questions to participants in the mentoring scheme about investment dealing, platforms, business consolidation and human resources-related issues.

The CISI’s mentoring scheme launched on January 1, with certified financial planners acting as mentors to members of the CISI financial planning forum who are searching for support in achieving professional goals.

Jacqueline Lockie, head of financial planning at CISI, said: "We are delighted that Schroders has wholeheartedly backed this initiative to help us support and grow the financial planning profession for the public benefit.

"By offering to provide those on the mentoring scheme with specialist help that might otherwise be hard or time-consuming to find, Schroders offers a tangible benefit for those taking the time to participate in the scheme and grow the profession."

Philip Middleton, head of UK intermediary business at Schroders, said: "Financial planning continues to be a very important profession for those wishing to seek financial advice and it is one which, over the past few years has been under increasing pressure.

"Our business has a wide-ranging set of skills and knowledge which I am hoping we can share and collaborate, through this mentoring programme with the CISI."
