Building society launches intermediary hub

Beverley Building Society has launched an online tool it claims will allow mortgage intermediaries to complete applications swiftly and efficiently.

The hub will include automatic registration the first time an application is completed, a "quick and easy online application form" and just one form for all products.

Graham Carter, head of lending at Beverley, said the society had spent the past 18 months researching what was already on the market, working out what was useful to brokers.

"One of the main things we've done is to make our online application form as simple and quick to complete as possible, by focusing on plain English and removing any unnecessary detail," said Mr Carter. "We only ask for the information we really need to underwrite each case."

It is the latest development for the market, which has seen a range of digital improvements including mortgage providers using online portals to showcase products and brokers assessing client criteria.

Beverley Building Society said the hub would allow "secure, easy digital document upload" and a fast turnaround for decisions.

It said the hub would also allow advisers direct access to the society’s underwriters.

The society said that it wanted to combine technological solutions, while maintaining a personal touch in its transactions.
