UK's favourite IFAs revealed

The rating site for financial and legal advisers released its list of financial and mortgage advisers which qualified for its 2019 Guide To The UK's Top Rated Financial Advisers on Saturday (February 23) by receiving the highest number of positive reviews from their clients.

The print version of the guide, distributed nationally in The Times, featured a list of financial advisers and mortgage advisers who qualified as ‘Top Rated’ by members of the public using the VouchedFor platform.

In total, 1,172 advisers from 737 different companies were included in the guide.

They amassed 21,664 client reviews since the start of 2018 with an average rating of 4.9 out of five.

According to VouchedFor, True Potential was the firm with the highest number of total reviews at 1,896.

2plan Wealth Management received 1,332 reviews, GHL Direct 1,147 reviews, Hargreaves Lansdown got 705, Investment Solutions got 619, Gallagher had 486, Westminster Wealth had 438 while Jones & Co got 369.

As well as being endorsed by at least 10 clients, each top rated adviser was a fully verified member of VouchedFor, which meant they had been checked against the Financial Conduct Authority register.

Alex Whitson, managing director of VouchedFor, said: "The 2019 Guide is the biggest project of its kind we have launched and the supplement in The Times is just the start.

"This is a year-long campaign which will reach millions of people. It will build public trust in financial advice and shine a light on those financial and mortgage advisers who we know are consistently doing a great job for their clients."

The print copy of the guide will be followed up by a digital version, which will be live from April to December 2019.

Mr Whitson said: "The guide wouldn't be possible without the efforts of thousands of advisers and clients who share our commitment to celebrating the value of great financial advice and helping more people access it.

"My sincere thanks to everyone who has contributed."

VouchedFor's list of advisers is based on reviews while FTAdviser's Top 100 Financial Advisers list uses data from our research partner Strategic Insight, formerly known as Matrix Data.

Last year marks a new dawn for FTAdviser's Top 100 Financial Advisers list as significant changes were made to the methodology used to rank businesses and based it on a greater volume of data received from Strategic Insight about these companies.

As a result, Tenet claimed the top spot this year due to a combination of their assets under management, the number of highly qualified individuals at the business and net retail fund sales.

Our Top 10 Financial Advisers list featured JLT Group in second place, Mazars Financial Planning in third place, Kerr Henderson Group in fourth position, Wilfred T Fry (Personal Financial Planning) in fifth place, Quilter in sixth, Raymond James Group in seventh, Brewin Dolphin Ltd in eighth, Foster Denovo in ninth and Tavistock Group came tenth.
