Royal London backs CISI mentoring scheme

Royal London has teamed with the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment, offering a technical protection helpline to its financial planning mentoring scheme.

The mentoring scheme began in January and sees Certified financial planners mentor members of the CISI's financial planning forum.

Life insurance, pensions and investment company Royal London is the third company to offer its technical helpline to participants in the scheme.

In January Schroders launched its own helpline in partnership with the mentoring scheme and in February self-invested personal pension provider James Hay followed suit.

Jacqueline Lockie, head of financial planning at CISI, said: "We are so delighted to have Royal London join the CISI financial planning mentoring scheme by offering its technical helpline to support the mentors and mentees enrolled.

"This not only highlights Royal London’s unreserved support for this initiative but also their willingness to assist in the growth of the financial planning profession."

Ms Lockie said Royal London will have dedicated staff available to support its mentors and mentees with protection technical queries.

Ian Smart, product architect at Royal London, said: "It’s great to get involved in such a fantastic scheme which offers help and support to individuals wishing to achieve more in their financial services career.

"At Royal London we know the importance of advice and we are delighted to be involved in helping people achieve their goals in financial planning."
