Raymond James launches Manchester branch with 3 new partners

Three former Brown Shipley employees have launched their own boutique wealth management firm under the Raymond James brand.

Doug McCance, Tom Illingworth and James Hymers will co-partner the newly launched Raymond James, Spinningfields office in Manchester.

The trio all have links to private bank Brown Shipley and will run the new office with the support from Raymond James.

Mr McCance began his career at Brown Shipley before joining Close Brothers Asset Management as an investment director in 2014.

Mr Illingworth spent eleven years at Brown Shipley, most recently serving high net worth individuals.

He said: "In the current climate, larger firms are increasingly treating their clients as commodities rather than valued customers.

"Every one of our clients will be treated as an individual. Our boutique structure and ability to follow a non-centralised investment process, allows us to tailor investment strategies to meet individual client mandates."

According to his LinkedIn profile, Mr Hymers spent the last five years at Brown Shipley as a client manager and will now lead the wealth planning service at the newly launched Raymond James branch.

Mr Hymers said: "We are focused on building long term relationships with our clients and together we will build a comprehensive financial plan; be it safeguarding the family’s future, investing to fund financial aspirations, understanding your inheritance tax situation or preparing for retirement.

"Our commitment to provide a complete wealth planning and investment service has culminated in us establishing Raymond James, Spinningfields."
