Rathbones looks to Brooks for investment director

Rathbones Investment Management has hired Scott Lothian as an investment director in Edinburgh.

Lothian previously worked at Brooks Macdonald as a senior investment director and head of the firm’s AIM portfolio service.

Before that he was a senior investment manager at Adam & Company.

Simon Dewar, regional director of Rathbones in Edinburgh, said: “We are delighted to welcome Scott to Rathbones.

"Given his extensive experience, he will be a valuable addition to the team in Edinburgh and will further bolster our investment team in Scotland while also helping to expand the depth and reach of Rathbones’ well-respected specialist tax portfolio service.

Rathbones saw its funds under management grow by £1bn in the first quarter of 2021.

The firm saw its funds reach £55.8bn by the end of March, made up of £45.5bn in the investment management business and £10.3bn in the Rathbone funds business.

Total net inflows were £700m, representing an annualised net growth rate of 5.1 per cent.
