Tilney taps family office for two hires

Tilney Smith & Williamson has made two hires in its investment management team in London.

James Green and Justine Harper joined from multi-family office Sandaire.

Green joined Tilney as an investment manager. He was at Sandaire for just under six years, most recently as a portfolio manager focussing on investment research and managing multi-asset portfolios for ultra-high net worth family groups and charities.

Harper, who joined as an executive account manager, spent eight years at Sandaire as a senior operations manager and previously spent eight years as an investment administration manager at Taylor Young Investment Management.

In her new role, Harper will work with investment managers on more complex mandates including those reporting in currencies other than sterling.

Philip Todd, director, Tilney Smith & Williamson, said: “I am very pleased to welcome James and Justine to the team. Both individuals have a considerable amount of industry experience which I know will be a great asset to our growing investment management business and our clients.

“James’s CFA certificate in ESG investing made him stand out as a candidate given ESG is so important to our approach to investing. Justine has a wide range of industry expertise and qualifications, including the CISI in global operations management.”

Green added: “I’m excited to join such a well-regarded and fast-growing firm. I’m passionate about helping clients to meet their financial goals whilst reflecting their ethical preferences in their investments. I look forward to helping the team to continue to deliver good risk-adjusted returns to clients.”
