Quilter Investors hires Schroders' Brookes as CIO
Marcus Brookes

Quilter Investors has hired Marcus Brookes as its chief investment officer.

Brookes joins from Schroders Personal Wealth, where he held the same role for just under three years. He was previously head of multi-manager at Schroders, and prior to that was deputy head of multi-manager at investment manager Gartmore.

He succeeds Bambos Hambi, who announced his retirement in November after just over a year in the role.

Steven Levin, chief executive of Quilter Investors, said: “We are thrilled to appoint Marcus Brookes as chief investment officer, as he has extensive experience in investment management and brings in-depth insight into creating multi-asset solutions that meet client expectations.

“His appointment reflects Quilter Investors’ ambition as a leading UK multi-asset solutions business.”

Brookes said: “Quilter is an innovative business with a strong client focus, and I look forward to helping the team develop its thematic ideas and drive good client outcomes.”

Brookes will manage the firm’s portfolio management desk, and will report to Levin.

Last month, Quilter re-structured its group into a high net worth focused arm and one catering to affluent individuals.
