Tenet hires learning head to boost support for adviser CPD
Anthony Sheard, head of learning and development at Tenet Group

Tenet Group has appointed Anthony Sheard as head of learning and development to boost its support for advisers’ continued professional development (CPD).

Sheard joins from HSBC, where he worked as global coaching and development manager since 2017.

Prior to this, he held other management roles at HSBC, including quality manager and business risk manager, as well as learning and development positions at the bank’s internet-based retail bank division First Direct.

In his new role at Tenet, he will be responsible for overseeing all learning and development services for advisers, equipping them with the tools, technology, and support they need for professional growth and serving their clients.

This includes Tenet Network Services members, directly authorised IFAs advised by Tenet compliance services, and its owned advice offering, Tenet&You.

Sheard said: “Tenet is a forward-thinking business that always has the professional growth of its advisers front of mind and understands its link to delivering high quality advice.

“I look forward to working with the team to continue building on and developing Tenet’s adviser L&D offerings during this exciting next stage.”

The group said Sheard’s appointment comes as Tenet continues to enhance its learning and development programme to ensure advisers have access to the highest quality CPD support, including the launch of a revamped, digital portal later this year.

The revamp will feature extensive online training content for advisers.

Mark Scanlon, chief executive at Tenet, said: “The value of quality financial advice has never been higher, and our continued investment in CPD is essential to help advisers provide the very best services and advice for their clients.

“Anthony brings a wealth of experience from his various development roles within the financial services sector, and we’re excited to welcome him as we continue to support our advisers’ growth and help them deliver financial peace of mind to their clients.”

Last month, Tenet Group opened a new office in Staffordshire as part of its plans to grow its advice business, Tenet&You.

The new office in Lichfield is Tenet&You’s fourth regional hub and will double-up as the operational centre for the group’s mortgage and protection broker business, Tenet Mortgage Solutions.

In February, the adviser network appointed Simon Broadley as managing director to its adviser business Tenet&You, which has made 18 firm acquisitions so far.

Broadley joined Tenet back in 2018, having served as managing director of Tenet Mortgage Solutions, the network’s mortgage and protection business.

In August, Tenet bought Leeds-based wealth management firm Astute Financial Advisers, adding more than £100mn in assets under management.

It said Astute would continue to trade under its own brand as a subsidiary of Tenet’s own advice company, Tenet&You, expanding its IFAs based in the north of England.
