The Chartered Insurance Institute has pushed back the date of its system upgrades by one month to March 2023.

The CII first advised customers and members in November of its intention to transition to a new relationship management system, which was due to take place in late January and early February 2023.

This was part of its “commitment to improving the way we deliver value for our members and learners”.

It said initially there would be minimal changes in the way members engage with the CII through their dashboard but in the longer term the transition would enable it to offer more streamlined, tailored communications and relevant CPD programmes.

The previously transition dates were set to be a maximum of two weeks from January 25, 2023 to February 5, 2023.

It said members could experience “intermittent service disruptions” during this time.

However, in an email to its members seen by FTAdviser today (December 13), the CII said it now plans to complete the transition between March 8 and 19.

“We want to ensure the smoothest experience possible for customers and members, and we believe we can now best achieve that by transitioning to our new system in March 2023,” it wrote.

“Re-planning our transition will give us additional time to complete all the necessary testing that we believe is essential to ensuring we achieve our ambition.”

Members do not need to take any action at this time, however the CII said they may want to consider booking any Multiple-Choice Question (MCQ) exams before March, should they fall due around the time of the transition and reflect on when any coursework assignments are due and submit them in good time

“If your SPS is due for renewal in March, we would recommend that you submit this once the application window opens on March 1,” it said.

The CII urged members to ensure their contact details are up to date.

During the transition period, no MCQ exams either online or at a centre will take place.

To avoid any confusion, the transition dates where exams will not take place have already been removed from the exam booking system.
