The UK's advice profession needs your support: join FTAdviser's promote your profession campaign today. (FTAdviser)

Promote your Profession: this is the latest campaign from FTAdviser.

The campaign aims to bring advisers, planners, paraplanners and brokers together to share best practice and encourage collaboration to boost the profession.

At a time when the advice world feels a little fragmented - not helped by the ongoing boardroom issues between the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute - FTAdviser wants to use its voice to encourage the community.

After all, our tagline since the first copy of the print title Financial Adviser went to press in 1987, has always been: 'The voice of financial advisers'.

The aims are fourfold:

  • To provide a forum where readers can share best practice and ideas for showcasing the professionalism of financial advice.
  • To bring expert commentary and insights from experienced professionals on building successful advisory businesses.
  • To promote ways to encourage school and college leavers to consider financial advice as an attractive, long-term career.
  • To lobby parliament and the Treasury to consider the importance of entrepreneurial financial services companies in the UK's post-Brexit regulatory framework.

Over the next three to four months, FTAdviser will also champion the voice of financial advisers when it comes to issues such as the future of UK financial services regulation, encouraging readers to write letters to their MPs to pass onto the Treasury and help shape Britain's post-Brexit regulatory regime.

We will work with leading lights in the profession to come up with a template letter that you can use and share with your colleagues and peers.

It is perhaps more important than ever, with a new regulatory framework in the offing and a nation of people needing financial advice amid the economic turmoil, to promote the true value of the work financial advisers do.

So do join us in promoting your profession and watch out for news stories, features, opinion pieces, podcasts and video content bearing the 'Promote your Profession' image.

Here's to achieving that parity of esteem and shaping a fairer future for financial advice in the UK.
