Evelyn Partners has acquired Ashcroft Partnerships LLP, a Cambridge-based firm of chartered accountants and tax specialists.

The move sees Evelyn expand its professional services presence in the East of England.

Ashcroft Partnership offers a range of assurance, corporate finance, business and personal tax services.

Commenting on the purchase, Evelyn’s chief professional services director, Andrew Wilkes said it is a “a very complimentary fit with Evelyn Partners both in terms of expertise and culture.”

“Strategically this acquisition will further develop our professional services presence in the East of England, supporting our ambition of being able to provide our range of professional services to businesses and private clients right across the UK,” Wilkes added.

Ashcroft Partnership specialises in areas including landed estates, farming and agriculture, real-estate, and leisure and hospitality.

It currently has a team of 40 people.

Ashcroft Partnership’s founder and senior partner Adrian Wilson said the firm has been on “an amazing journey” since 2020.

“We always had a fast-paced growth strategy and when we were approached by Evelyn Partners it was clear that their commitment to developing the professional services offering in the East of England aligned with our own ambitions.

“Their range and depth of resources have been key to the decision, as was ensuring our clients continue to receive the premium service and experience they have come to expect,” Wilson said.

The acquisition follows the release of Evelyn’s 2022 results last month in which the firm said it is looking for further acquisition opportunities in 2023.
