Canada Life Investments has hired two new sales staff as it looks to expand its retail presence in the UK.
Matt Couzens has joined from Russell Investments to be sales investments director, responsible for promoting Canada Life’s funds to the retail and discretionary markets.
He had been associate director of UK wealth management at Russell, prior to which he had spent five years at Legal & General Investment Management.
Canada Life has also hired Deirdre McNamara as head of third party relationships, having spent 10 years at Legal & General, most recently as third party relationship manager.
The two join in newly created roles, reporting to head of sales and marketing Frank Maret, to promote Canada Life Investments’ 11 OEICS and six unit trusts which were introduced to the UK market in January this year and cover UK and overseas markets.
